Nick Richens

Nick is Chief Executive of London Camera Exchange and has played an important part in making it the UK’s biggest independent photo retailer. He recently masterminded the transition to employee ownership.

An obsession with cameras, photography, and optical instruments led to a first job behind the counter in the Guildford branch of London Camera Exchange. Very quickly he realised that the intricacies and technicalities of the kit held as big an interest as the photography itself.

Nearly 50 years later he is still with the Company having seen massive change in photographic equipment and techniques which has kept his interest alive. He is always keen to try out anything and everything camera-wise. Not every click of Nick’s shutter captures a masterpiece, nonetheless he generally knows a good picture when he sees it and loves to think that LCE might have played its part by selling the camera that captured the image.
