Heron on Vondel by Emily Turner

The Grey Heron in this photograph had decided to land on the head of a statue of Joost van den Vondel (a famous Dutch writer) in the Vondelpark in Amsterdam. The bird had prominent chest feathers, so I elected to silhouette the heron and the head of the statue against the sky.
